Terms of Service
Last updated 27 July 2026
These terms govern your use of this website and any work, course or product you buy from Appcademy. Plain language, no traps — if anything is unclear, ask us before you commit.
1. Agreement
By using this site, booking a class or engaging us for a project, you agree to these terms. For project work, a signed or written-and-accepted quotation takes precedence over anything here where the two conflict.
2. Scope of work
- Every project starts with a written scope: deliverables, milestones, timeline and price.
- Work begins after you approve the scope and the deposit clears.
- Anything not written in the scope is not included. That is not us being difficult — it is how you avoid a surprise invoice.
- If you want something added mid-project, we quote it separately. You decide whether to proceed.
3. Your responsibilities
Projects stall for predictable reasons. To keep yours moving, you agree to:
- Provide content, brand assets, accounts and access we ask for, in reasonable time.
- Nominate one person who can give feedback and sign off decisions.
- Respond to review requests within 5 working days. Extended silence may pause the project and shift the timeline.
- Confirm you have the right to any content, logo or material you give us to use.
4. Payment
- Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and exclude any applicable tax unless stated.
- Project work is typically 50% deposit to start and the balance on delivery, unless the quote sets different milestones.
- Invoices are due within 14 days of issue.
- Courses and digital products are paid in full at checkout.
- We may pause work on materially overdue accounts. We will always tell you before we do.
5. Intellectual property
- On final payment, you own the deliverables — source code, designs and assets created specifically for you. We transfer accounts and repositories to you.
- We keep ownership of our pre-existing tools, libraries and internal components, and grant you a perpetual licence to use them within your delivered project.
- Third-party components stay under their own licences, which we will identify.
- Unless you ask us not to, we may show the work publicly in our portfolio. Tell us if it is confidential and we will keep it off the site.
6. Courses and academy
- Course access is personal to you. Do not share your login or redistribute materials.
- Live class seats are limited; a seat is confirmed only once payment completes.
- If we cancel or reschedule a class, you may move to another date or take a full refund.
- We may update course content over time; you keep access to the updated version.
7. Warranty and support
- We fix defects in delivered scope free of charge for 30 days after go-live.
- That covers things that do not work as specified. It does not cover new features, third-party service changes, or content you edit yourself.
- Ongoing maintenance is available separately.
8. Liability
We deliver work with reasonable skill and care, but we do not warrant that software will be uninterrupted or entirely error-free. To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, our total liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Cancellation
- You may cancel a project in writing at any time. You pay for work completed up to that point; deposits covering completed work are non-refundable.
- We may end an engagement if payment is materially overdue, if requested work is unlawful, or if communication breaks down to the point the work cannot proceed.
10. Confidentiality
We keep your business information confidential and use it only to do the work. We are happy to sign your NDA — send it over before you share anything sensitive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute. We would much rather resolve things with a conversation first — email [email protected].
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force for your project is the one published when you accepted your quotation.
