Paintball Booking System
Session booking for a paintball arena
The problem
Paintball sessions were booked over the phone. Every call meant somebody checking a book, confirming the slot was still free, and writing it down — and two calls at once meant one slot could be booked twice.
For an arena run partly by volunteers, that is not a small problem.
What we observed
Before we wrote any code.
The important part was never the booking form. It was the day view for the arena.
Whoever opens up on a Saturday morning needs one screen that says: how many groups, at what time, how many people each. If that has to be dug out, the system has failed even when the bookings work.
Group size is part of the slot rather than a note on the side, because arena capacity is counted in people, not in bookings.
What we built
Built for MADAD Murtadha Dakwah Centre so paintball sessions stop being booked over the phone: pick a slot, set the group size, confirm, and the arena sees the day at a glance.
